Profile of a lifestyle business – a reality check

Whilst reading A Return to Love I highlighted this paragraph as I wanted to share it with you. We can all get tied up in our business story and sometimes that gets really painful.

Especially in the beginning, but I won’t lie and tell you that that goes away. My mastermind buddies and I still experience this pain at times and it’s not a nice place to be in.

The thing to be reminded of again and again is that your business is not what makes or breaks this life for you. Your life is. Your experience of it is. Your thoughts about it is. What you create of it is.

When you’re a through and through freedom based, lifestyle business owner, your business is your income generator, albeit a far more passionate one than if you were in a 9-5, that allows you to make a positive contribution whilst allowing you greater freedom to experience life the way you want to.

The income itself isn’t your driving force (yes, we all need to pay the bills and money to enjoy travelling and other lifestyle pieces, that’s not what we’re talking about here).

When you get too caught up in the business building that you lose sight of that person, who you want to be more of, take a step back. Remember the journey, the marathon, not the sprint. Remember that your life is what matters, your business is a tool in it.
