How to create a personal lifestyle brand that matters

personal lifestyle brandThe paradox of a personal brand is how to create one without being egocentric. Because really, it’s not about you and your success.

Yes as a personal brand you need to share your story, but this must always be with the purpose of making this relevant for your audience, to inspire something bigger, wider, a movement that you have ‘cracked’ in some way and choose to teach others.

This doesn’t mean you need to build an empire or lead a revolution. Phew. Unless you want to of course. Then go for it.

What this means is that you lead by example. Who you are, your choices, your whys, your lifestyle, matter.

Why are personal lifestyle brands leading online?

Every movement, anything worthwhile was started by a human being.  This is what a personal brand is about. This is exciting. This is encompassing, it brings others on board. It generates positive change.

How you want to empower others, the change you want to be a part of in this world, is your core message.
Your story is the demonstration, the social proof if you like, that you know what you’re talking about.

Your story is the vehicle that led you to the message you share today and how you want to help your clients.

But it’s not about your story as such. The message is what it’s about.

You can be great at sales, have a great sign up conversion rate, have a fabulous lifestyle funded by your clients, but if your clients aren’t getting the results you guarantee (or at least talk about) then there’s something amiss in your personal lifestyle brand promise.

“I created this in my life and you can too”…not…
“I created this in my life because you pay me”

If you ever find it difficult to share about you because you feel it’s self centred, remember, you’re simply giving examples, your message is bigger than you. This is what you’re selling. A transformation. Something that benefits society in a wider sense.

What matters in your personal lifestyle brand?

Have a real, deep think about what it is you stand for –
What is your story? What happened to you that led you down this path?
What is the reason, exactly, that you now teach this to your clients?
What is the global shift in this that you want to see happen in the world?

I believe that by taking full responsibility, that by truly living consciously, creating extraordinary lives where we are the leader in our own life, that the next generation, and world, will know greater compassion, honesty, happiness and a move towards a more generous, less fearful way of being.

What do you believe? What does your personal lifestyle brand advocate?
