Got Tired mama eyes?

Oh my gosh, I love my kids but I’ve also been sleep deprived for so many years. I feel it. If you’re a mama or anyone with disturbed sleep, you know what it’s like! I diffuse this Serenity blend every single night. On its own or combined with other oils. I also apply it to my wrists. You ca...

Want better sleep?

Could you use a good night's sleep? I love using serenity capsules and oil blend every night to support me in getting to sleep and sleeping better - and at the very least, waking up way more rested than I otherwise would be after an unsettled night. I could not believe the difference, even with several night wakings, these capsules make it possible for me to get out of bed in the morning without having to drag myself out. And of course, they’re totally natural and non addictive. Huge win in my book. Then I rub a drop of Serenity oil blend on my jaw to relax any tension held there (there’s usually some by the end of the day 😉 and I pop it in the diffuser because the scent is like rainbows and stardust). p.s) not sleeping...

Ear support

Support little ears with occasional discomfort and/or if they’re in need of some flow (works for big ears too!). I’ve been into oils for year, Dominic, not so much. This is what made him put our oils in alphabetical order and start using them 😉 Our youngest had been crying for 3 months, day in, day out. The doctors wouldn’t believe anything was wrong. They called me paranoid. They told me to go deal with it. I took her 5 times - and to the hospital. They eventually agreed to send us to a specialist. The pressure in her ear was 200 - it’s meant to be 50! I was nervous about the general anaesthetic and the grommets as she loved splash...

What I feed my skin

Your skin naturally produces oil to heal, protect, moisturise, lubricate. The more you scrub and use harsh abrasive or chemical products to counter- act this natural function, the more difficult you make it for that protective layer to do its best for you. Water is not absorbed into the bloodstream through the skin, but oily substances are. Oil particles are small enough get absorbed through the skin, to hydrate at a deeper level - and into the bloodstream - hence the importance of using only pure, natural oils. Natural products allow you...

morning hydration ritual

I don't think I could make it through a day without my lemon essential oil (I could, I totally could, and have done, many times, but here’s why I don’t want to….). Have you ever thought of the word breakfast as break-fast. You literally are breaking the overnight fast. Whilst you sleep, your body is BUSY cleaning up. Come morning time, you want to help your body to flush out all the toxic waste it’s gathered up overnight (including cleaning up your brain cells - oh thank you body!), by hydrating. This will make a difference to your energy levels and pretty much everything else (just like spring cleaning - clear out the ju...

How fast do oils work?

We live in a fast paced world - fast food, fast cars, we want immediate results - 24hr shopping, speedy delivery, over the counter quick fix medication, diet pills. This makes it challenging for some people to switch to natural options. You might be scared they won’t work for you. Or they won’t work quickly enough. Good new is, they can work very fast, within minutes - see image. Does that surprise you?!

Meet your vagus nerve

Have you heard of the vagus nerve? If not, I’d like to introduce you. Vagus means ‘wanderer’ and from the images above, you can see why. The vagus nerve is the longest in your body. It plays a role in nearly every physiological action in your body (impacting mood, immune response, digestion, and heart rate, amongst others).  It’s the most important nerve when it comes to your rest and relaxation r...

essential spring support

Spring is right around the corner and that means more seasonal threats are, too! I started struggling with this at 18 years old, living by the banks of the Seine. Nowadays, I love to support my system using lemon, lavender and peppermint - does the trick right away. Here's how I use them: 2 drops of each in a shot of water, 2-3 x day; 2 drops of each in the diffuser; 2 drops of each in a glass roller bottle (this is what I use on our 5yo, under her feet and along her spine. Works a treat and I feel safe using this to ...

On body image

It’s never about anyone else. It’s always about you. The way you feel about yourself. The way you view yourself. Do you feel enough? Do you accept who you are, right now? Do you forgive choices you make or don’t make, or feel you should be making? Do you look upon your body with love, even if it doesn’t look as you want it to/feel it should? Who you BE dictates how much hold external opinions have on you. Focus on YOUR daily experience. Grab your bottle of Bergamot, Patchouli or Grapefruit. Pop a drop in your hand, rub together, cup over your nose and take some deep breaths along with an affi...

essential oils for pregnancy

Many pregnant mums become extra concerned about the products they use. And with good reason! Preparing for our first child is when I went full out removing as many toxins from our home as possible. I wanted my babies to have the best chance with their immunity and overall health (including their brains!).   Did you know that microplastics were detected in human placenta? "Microplastics carry with them substances which, acting as endocrine disruptors, could cause long-term effects on human health." (Science Direct article 106274). 200 Chemicals have been found in newborn umbilical cord blood (Scientific American). Babies are born with a toxic load - from their mother and father, but. there’s so mu...

must have oils for your bathroom

This is where you look in the mirror first thing in the morning, last thing at night. The average woman will observe over 10 things (without even realising it!) that she doesn't like about her body. The way you feel about your external body affects your mood your confidence, your choices, your capability even. Try aromatic dressing to turn that around and set yourself up for greater self love, or at least accept...

2 tips for teeth grinders!

Does someone in your house grind their teeth? It's a noise that totally makes you cringe! Both of our kids did this, apparently it's a stage many kids go through - and of course many adults also it. These two tips work really well: 1. massage the bone on both sides of the big toe (the part that is wider than the rest, you'll feel the bone there). You can also do this on the hands - on the thumb. Massage that area for a minute or so, both sides. 2. add a drop of Serenity blend to that to supercharge the results. And, gently rub a drop of Serenity, diluted, to the outside of the jaw. Both of our kids stopped grinding their teeth within a day or so of us doing this Now tell me, have you ever needed this combo in your house?!

My Daily essentials

You hear me talking about the Top 10 oils quite a bit - the ones that make up the most popular starter kit. But what then? Well, aside from supplements, these are oils that I use every single day: * Adaptive roller: back of my neck to help me adapt (does what it says on the roller) to whatever the day brings * Whisper: purefume. Behind my ears every day. Delicious and calming * Clarycalm: rolled over my lower abdomen for hormonal every single day to soothe the monthly hormone journey * Balance: under my feet every morning to ground * Elevation: in my diffuser or under my feet to promote a positive mood and feelings of ...

Do you know who is behind the products you buy?

Do you know who is behind the products you buy? Conscious consumerism is important to me (not just in regards to oils, but in every area, as much as possible). In this day and age, our world needs more businesses that put GOOD business practices at the forefront. When I chose to start using doT...

Have you done a bodymindsoul inventory?

When was the last time you did a bodymindsoul inventory? Checking into where you’re at in each of those areas? What have you been ignoring? What have you been holding onto? What did you forget about? What are you putting up with? What are you dragging around? What have you ’tried everything’ for? Where would you like to grow? It can be so easy to get caught up with having to do this and that, setting goals and what you need to do to reach your desired result, that we can forget about HOW we want the journey to be. If there’s a health and wellbeing goal you’d like to work on and want t...

Got The Winter Blues?

January can seem soooo long, and then February tends to get all the blame. The good news is, I've got an oil for you, and I know it makes a difference. One lady in our community says that since she’s been using oils, it’s the first time she feels she can get through the winter without feeling low the entire time. I diffuse citrus oils every single day for this purpose. I like to mix several of them together, or with peppermint for an energy boost. When I forget to put my diffuser on I immediately feel a difference (truth be to...

Set Yourself Up For Success

What’s your favourite part of the day? I have to say that I love mornings once everyone’s out at kindy/school/work (except Dom starts a new job soon and will also be working from home, yikes!), the puppy’s lying on my feet (toasty warm and soft!) and I can dig into my work. Between you and me, I’m often still in my PJs at this stage. I love this time because it’s full of possibility. I set myself up for success: uplifting citrus oils in the diffuser for motivation, a drop of Frankincense under my tongue for mood support, oily pure-fume behind my ears, hormone balancing oil ...

Do you multi-task?

Hands up if you’re a multi-tasking Queen! Did you know that your brain cannot, in fact, multitask? Ladies, there, I said it! Your brain loves to ONE TASK. You may think you’re good at multitasking but your brain actually jumps in and out of each thing you’re doing. It’s like interval training for your brain all.day.long. Or hoping in and out of tabs one after the other. Exhausting. No wonder you feel like binge eating at the end of the day or eating foods you wouldn’t have chosen that morning. Your brain is exhausted from all the decisions you’ve given it throughout the day, not to mention the constant activity. Batching activities is one way to combat the multi-tasking habit. I like to batch my creative w...
