Why Living Your Purpose Is Vital For Your Health

your purposeWhen you think about health do you think about food, exercise, sleep, meditation…?

Did you know that what you DO in life, your passion, is one of the most important yet overlooked causes for not feeling the way you want to feel in your body, in your skin, and that it’s also one of your greatest motivators for going for that transformation and making it work for you?

I want to be clear here:
Your purpose is to live your most incredible life.
Your mission is to follow your biggest passion (this is *always* linked to making a difference in the world).

What happens when you’re not in alignment with your passions, whether it be your so called mission to help others through your work and change the world, or your art, or being a mother, or charity work, whatever it is that really fulfills you,  when you’re not in alignment with this you feel a constant sense of lack which translates, on a physiological level, within your body, into a state of stress.

In days of old when we lacked – it was food, it was shelter, this was a truly stressful situation. These days most of our stress is emotional, it is rare to have a physical cause for it unless for example you’re jay-walking a car accelerates towards you. And what this means is that your sympathetic nervous system is almost permanently turned on, your heart beats faster, your body holds onto fat as it thinks there’s a period of lack coming up so it has to stock up, blood-flow is diverted from your digestion so you get bloated, gassy, indigestion…you get the picture.

On top of this, when your body feels this way on the inside, when your cells think that they’re not safe right now, that they are on alert, this affects you on a very real emotional level. You’re not going to feel at ease, relaxed. You’re going to feel rushed, anxious, nervous, stressed, snappy if anything or anyone disturbs your train of thought or whatever you happen to be doing.

When you integrate your passions into your life, whatever level this may be on to satisfy you, it could be making it your full time job, or part-time, or a hobby, whatever you need to satisfy that urge, that pull, then you remove this very big area of stress from your life, from your body so that you can get on with enjoying it and so experiencing more joy and flow in your life. And of course when you do this your body is then able to function more optimally meaning that you sleep better, you feel more relaxed, you’re able to look after yourself better and so forth.

So what you do with your life has a huge impact on your health and well-being.

So tell us, did you notice a massive shift in your health and well-being when you began to follow your passions in life?
