One way to create more personal, heart centered client communication

One way to create more personal, heart centered client communicationHave you ever found yourself bored of or feeling empty from simply sharing the ‘how to’, the technical side of your topic (be it business, health, copy writing etc)? You feel generic, you don’t feel you’re bringing as much of you into your work as you want to be so you feel like ‘just’ another coach/consultant/healer etc.

And look, you invested financially in educating yourself and you want to share what you know with others and be thought of as an expert in your field. So let’s be clear here, there’s nothing wrong with sharing theory and focusing on that if that’s what you want to focus on. But if it isn’t, then you won’t feel satisfied or fulfill your deepest potential in your client communication and connection.

People buy from people. In the kind of work you do as a coach, consultant, wellness practitioner, healer, creative you are essentially your business so your clients need – and want – to see more of you as this is what they identify with.

You did it, you live it and they want to know how.

The facts about how to achieve any one particular thing are easily found on Google. What your clients want is that personal connection with you and your story because in one way or another they see themselves in it, they identify with the desired outcome that they are after.

So how to bring more of you into your work?

Sharing your journey, who you are now and what life can look like for your clients once they have achieved this (whatever your promised result is) motivates and inspires them to create that change, knowing that this change is possible.

Not only does sharing personal stories from your past and present help your clients see the transformation that is possible for them but it also gives them an idea of how working with looks like. You’re setting up expectations.

Where in your every day can you share from?
If you work in health – do you share recipes and photos of your latest trials, failures and successes in the kitchen?
As a business coach do you share photos of your down-time, your dreams and share revelations about a common business building struggle that you used to experience yourself?
As a wellness coach do you share photos of you out running, standing in the grass for fresh air.
As a copy writer or writing coach do you share what you’re reading and lessons learnt, where you best like to read, your time away from the laptop?

What types of posts make you feel most connected to the coaches and mentors you follow?
